Mahindra Thar Armada Unveils Luxurious Features: Panoramic Sunroof, Advanced Safety Tech

What all of you were waiting for comes now with the long-expected Thar 5-door, likely to be christened the Thar Armada. This all-new offering is going to be a game-changer, coming equipped with first-in-class features that shall redefine off-road SUV experiences in India.

Thar Armada Steals the Show with Panoramic Sunroof

Get ready to soak up some sun, or for that matter, say star gaze while you make your way through any terrain. The Thar Armada will be the first ladder frame SUV in India to sport a panoramic sunroof, especially in its top-end trim. This extended glass roof makes for a lavish feel and also allows an airiness and fills the cabin with light, ideal to enjoy the outdoors. Lower variants are likely to make do with a single pane sunroof, which offers a more conventional feel.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Enhance Safety

Safety comes to the fore with top-end variants of the Thar Armada getting ADAS Level 2 tech. This suite could include lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and even forward collision warning including auto braking. Such advanced systems will serve to support the driver and passengers on the roads.

Tech-Savvy Features for the Modern Driver

More than rugged good looks, the Thar Armada will have a pretty modern and tech-laden interior. A large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system to provide connectivity seamlessly and entertainment on board. Another unit of the same size will be used for the digital instrument cluster, whereby all information regarding your drive will be very clear and readable. A Range of Engine Options for Every Need

Mahindra will have three different powertrains to collaborate with different preferences. Most probably, the entry-level variant would be with a 1.5-liter diesel engine that will make Thar Armada more affordable. Then, there will be a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol for customers who crave more power. Only the 1.5-litre diesel is expected to see a rear-wheel-drive, while the more powerful engines are likely to be paired with the 4WD system.

Unofficial Bookings Begin, Launch on the Horizon

While Mahindra has not announced a launch date, dealerships have supposedly started unofficial bookings for the Thar Armada. This lifestyle SUV will rival the recently launched Force Gurkha 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny. It may also tempt buyers of mid-size SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The Thar Armada will change everything one expected of an off-road SUV in India. There are luxuries, advanced safety features, and some really powerful engine options to ensure its surefire success among adventure seekers and everyday drivers.
