Well, the long wait is finally over. On 5th July 2024, Bajaj Auto is going to launch the much-anticipated CNG motorcycle in India. According to various reports, this new two-wheeler will revolutionize the Indian market with its more pocket-friendly alternative against traditional petrol-guzzlers.
CNG Power: A First for Motorcycles
The Bajaj CNG motorcycle will just be known as the Bajaj Bruzer for now (though this really isn't the final name for this bike). This will be the world's first mass-produced motorcycle running on CNG and petrol. With petrol prices touching the sky for years, and no signs of declining anytime soon, faux pas seekers are definitely looking out for something more affordable. While electric motorcycles are another alternative, readily available and pocket-friendly electric options are few and far between. In a way, the Bajaj CNG bike makes up that gap.
Lower Running Costs on the Horizon
The best advantage of the Bajaj CNG motorcycle has to be running costs much lower than a comparable gasoline-powered commuter motorbike. With CNG being substantially cheaper as a fuel, one can ride away to work feeling considerably light in the wallet.
Technical Specs and Burning Questions
While details are still to come out, we do know that the Bajaj CNG Bike shall run preferably on a 125cc engine with the capability to switch hassle-free between CNG and petrol. Leaked design documents give us a glimpse of the bike's engineering and show how Bajaj has engineered the CNG tank into the overall structure.
One of the main questions on everyone's mind is the range: how many kilometers on a single fill of the CNG. Bajaj promises to answer this and other burning questions at the official launch event on July 5th.
