2025 Formula Bharat: January 22-27 at Kari Motor Speedway

The 2025 Formula Bharat Student Competition is set to take place from January 22 to 27 at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. This exciting ninth edition will feature 23 combustion vehicle (CV) teams and 34 electric vehicle (EV) teams from India, Nepal, and Bangladesh, all competing for top honors. In the 2024 edition, Vishwaracers from the Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune, clinched the CV category, while IIT Bombay Racing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, took the top spot in the EV category.

What is Formula Bharat?

Formula Bharat is part of a global engineering competition where students design and build formula-style prototype race cars to showcase their skills. These vehicles are then rigorously tested on the track. Among South Asian nations, India is the only country with its competition featured in the prestigious Formula Student world rankings.

Over the course of six days, teams will be evaluated on both static and dynamic aspects of their prototypes. Judging criteria include car design, cost efficiency, manufacturing quality, business strategy, and track performance in areas like skid pad, acceleration, autocross, and endurance. Teams have been collaborating with event organizers for months, fine-tuning their designs and ensuring mechanical precision.

Be Part of the Action

Whether you're cheering on your college team or just curious about the competition, the event is open to visitors starting January 22. Spectators will not only get to see teams in action but also enjoy additional attractions. Highlights include a full-size replica of a Red Bull Formula 1 car and a virtual Q&A session with a Red Bull F1 race engineer.
