Hyundai is ready to launch the much-awaited Creta EV on January 17, 2025. It is one of the major steps the company will take in its electric vehicle journey. The Creta EV will be one of the headliners at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025 in New Delhi, where it will be unveiled to the public for the first time. This electric version of the popular Creta SUV is going to take on rivals like the Mahindra BE 6e and Tata Curvv EV. Deliveries are scheduled to start by February 2025, and this Creta EV is already making a lot of noise in the Indian EV market.

Design and Features of the Creta EV

Much of the design language is likely to be retained for the Hyundai Creta EV from the standard ICE model with a few tweaks that distinguish it as an electric vehicle. The SUV would boast a new look for its closed grille, revised bumpers, and distinct alloy wheels. On the inside, it will borrow a few things from the Alcazar like HVAC controls and a redesigned center console. The SUV will also feature a three-spoke steering wheel, a drive selector controller, and buttons for features like cooled seats, an electronic parking brake, and a 360-degree camera.

The Creta EV will carry forward the twin-screen setup for infotainment and instrument cluster, so the cabin will be tech-rich. The infotainment system is expected to have more features specific to EVs, and the software interface will be updated for a better user experience. Hyundai has focused on making the interior modern and user-friendly with physical controls for easy accessibility.

Creta EV Range, Battery, and Power

It is stated to have a 45kWh battery pack, hence an electric SUV that boasts good range in its segment. However, the size of the battery is lesser as compared to some other competitors such as the MG ZS EV, though not unlike that of the entry-level Tata Curvv EV. A motor, that produces 255 Nm of torque at 138 horsepower, will power this electric SUV- just like that on the latest-gen Kona EV. This motor will be installed on the front axle, providing a smooth and efficient drive experience.

Hyundai will be able to manufacture about 24,000 units of the Creta EV annually. The SUV will be priced competitively in the market, making it a good choice for those who want an electric SUV.

Competitive Pricing: With a focus by Hyundai on affordability, consumers buying the electric vehicle will gain, even for the electric vehicle fanatic. Deliveries for the Creta EV are scheduled to start in February 2025, which would be a big splash in the growing EV segment of India.
