Royal Enfield to launch Thunderbird 350X and 500X on 28 Feb

Urban-centric new models of Thunderbird to be sold as premium versions of the existing models

Royal Enfield announced today that they will be launching their highly anticipated 2018 variants Thunderbird 350X and 500X on Feb 28, 2018. Most of the changes are speculated to be cosmetic only and the new bikes would carry the same powerplant and gearbox as that of standard Thunderbird range. 

The new variants are designed to please the 'younger' target audience with a premium finish. As seen in the spied photograph, the motorcycles can be seen boasting new handlebar and seats. The engine gets a black matte finish instead of silver trim on the standard version. 

It has been speculated that the X variants to be priced at a slight premium over the existing Thunderbirds – which are currently priced at Rs 1.48 lakh (350) and Rs 1.90 lakh (500; all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai). Given the changes on offer, we expect to see a price increment of around Rs 5,000 over the existing models.
