A Consistent Performance Amidst Challenges

Ross Branch, the reigning W2RC champion, began the day strong after camping overnight at Break Point E following a demanding 609-kilometer ride on Day 1. Staying close to the rally leaders throughout Stage 2B, he tackled the terrain with focus. However, a few minor setbacks in the technical sections saw him finish in 5th place.

“I’m just relieved to be back in one piece, with my bike in perfect condition and ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenge!” Branch remarked, showcasing his trademark resilience. His calculated approach ensures he remains firmly in the fight for a podium finish.

Cornejo Holds Steady in the Top 10

Branch’s teammate, Jose Ignacio "Nacho" Cornejo, delivered a steady performance as well. Starting the day in 11th place overall, Cornejo finished Stage 2B in 12th, maintaining his 9th position in the standings.

“It was a tough and long day with a lot of dust. The bike is performing really well, with just a few minor issues yesterday and today. But overall, it was smooth. This is just the beginning, and we still have a lot of race left. Looking forward to the next stage!” Cornejo commented, reflecting his cautious but optimistic outlook.
