Mahindra supplies 100 e2oPlus units to self-drive car provider Zoomcar for renting out on their platform
Though the EVs have been supplied on a lease term basis, Zoomcar also has obtained a larger, customised EV financing arrangement with Mahindra Finance.
Commenting on the development, Greg Moran, co-founder and CEO of Zoomcar said, “As the national capital, Delhi has consistently shown visionary leadership on various sustainable initiatives such as the metro, odd-even, and CNG infrastructure. Today’s roll out of 100 EVs coupled with best-in-class fast-charging infrastructure is an extension of the Delhi government's vision for a cleaner, greener India.”
Mahesh Babu, CEO, Mahindra Electric, also seemed confident about the move hoping it would accelerate EV adoption in the country.
It’s not the first time Mahindra has taken steps to promote EVs on shared mobility platforms. Last year in May and November, Mahindra also joined hands with cab aggregator services providers, Ola and Uber, to promote EVs on their platform.
