Powertrain Stays the Same: Petrol Engine with CVT Gearbox
Calling all Toyota Innova fans! The popular MPV is about to get more feature-packed with the introduction of a new variant – the GX (O). This new top-of-the-line version will be exclusive to the non-hybrid petrol version of the Innova Hycross.
Plenty of options for discerning drivers
The GX (O) variant sits atop the existing GX model and is available in seven-seat and eight-seat configurations. While Toyota is yet to announce official pricing, we expect it to carry a premium of around Rs 70,000 compared to the GX variant (which is priced between Rs 19.77 lakh and Rs 19.82 lakh).
So, below you will find some of the new additions the GX (O) offer that the GX doesn’t. Let us have a look!
- Improved comfort and convenience: The GX (O) gets some nice upgrades for a more relaxed driving experience. It includes automatic climate control, rear automatic blower control and a dual-tone interior with a soft-touch dashboard for a more premium feel.
- Tech upgrades: The seven-seater version of the GX (O) features a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay for seamless smartphone connectivity.
- Improved safety and visibility: Safety features have been enhanced with the addition of front parking sensors and the addition of a 360-degree camera for easier maneuvering in tight spaces GX (O ) also get LED front wind lamps for better visibility at night.
- Additional features: The seven-seat GX (O) gets a retractable rear sunshade for added comfort on sunny days.

Powertrain and competition
The Innova Hycross GX (O) carries the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 173 hp and 209 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox and sends power to the front wheels.
It is important to note that the Innova Hycross has no direct competitors in the MPV segment. But popular three-row SUVs like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus face some competition, especially from customers looking for a spacious and well-equipped family car.
Expected starting points and requirements
While Toyota has yet to announce an official launch date for the GX (O), we expect it to hit showrooms soon. With the availability of additional features and the possibility of a slight increase in price, the GX (O) caters to customers who want a premium and well-equipped version of the popular Innova Hycross. Keep an eye out for updates from Toyota on the launch date and pricing for the New Hycross GX (O)!
