UM Motorcycle to invest 167 crore in India

The US-based manufacturer is planning to start Engine assembly plant in India with a production capacity of 50,000 units per year

The US-based manufacturer is planning to set up an engine manufacturing plant in India nearby Hyderabad. This would become their 2nd manufacturing plant after Kashipur, Uttarakhand. The new plant would also bring new jobs for the people as the workforce is set to rise up to 1200 from existing 500 people. The new plant is towards company's plan of achieving 100 percent localisation. 

Juan Villegas, Director UM International LLC, "We are ready to open a new factory in South of India by next year to grow our production base. It will be open by 2019. Most of our market is south and south-west"
