The all-new Kia Carnival has managed to win the hearts of car buyers all over India since its launch on October 3, 2024. With its premium features, spacious design, and impressive performance, the MPV has seen a lot of popularity. The fourth-generation Carnival has attracted 3,350 bookings so far from Kia. However, this high demand has resulted in a waiting period of up to six months for new buyers.

High Demand and Reservation Figures

Kia started opening reservations for the new Carnival on September 16, 2024, and on the day of launch, it already had a reservation of around 2,796. During the subsequent month and a half, 554 more reservations were made, thus making a total of 3,350 orders. This overwhelming response shows the popularity of the Carnival in Indian markets.

The new Carnival is available in one fully loaded trim with a 7-seater configuration (2+2+3). Customers can choose between two elegant color options – Glacier White Pearl and Fusion Black. Interestingly, Kia has reported an equal split in demand for both colors, which reflects balanced customer preferences. So far, Kia India has delivered 400 units and is working to increase production to meet the growing demand.

Features and Performance Highlights

The fourth-generation Kia Carnival is a marvel of luxury and technology. It features powered second-row captain's chairs with heating, ventilation, and extendable leg support to ensure the best possible comfort for passengers. Some of the other features that make this MPV outstanding include a 12-way powered driver's seat, dual 12.3-inch curved displays, dual electric sunroofs, three-zone climate control, and an 11-inch head-up display. For audiophiles, the car has a 12-speaker Bose sound system, which provides an excellent sound experience.

Under the bonnet of the Kia Carnival sits a 193hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine, and an 8-speed automatic transmission, resulting in a silky smooth power delivery with an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 14.85kpl. The Indian market, for now, has nothing that can give the Kia a run for its money in this genre.

Conclusion

Kia's Carnival has, indeed put together quite a tall order from other MPVs in that field: high performance with strong yet generous features. Perhaps the only demotion on this particular MPV would be waiting for around half a year, but no, the premium experience seems worthwhile. It is high time Kia's production speeds are increased, hopefully breaking this waiting list and more effectively meeting this increasing market. For the ones willing to spend, get hold of a feature-rich yet roomy luxurious MPV such as the Kia Carnival.
