Maruti Suzuki gears up for the much-anticipated launch of its premium MPV on July 5. With a perfect blend of sophistication, innovation, and power, this upcoming release promises to redefine the MPV segment and leave a lasting impression on car enthusiasts and industry experts alike.
A formidable 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine generating an impressive 173hp, as well as a hybrid variant boast a remarkable output of 183hp. Both engine options are expected to be paired with either a CVT or e-CVT gearbox, ensuring seamless and efficient power delivery on the road.
How Maruti Suzuki MPV different from Innova Hycross?
The Maruti Suzuki MPV takes inspiration from the Toyota Innova Hycross, sharing many of its components. However, to give it a distinctive identity, Maruti has made cosmetic changes that set it apart from its Toyota counterpart.
One noticeable change is the larger grille on the Maruti MPV, featuring a stylish honeycomb mesh design, dual chrome bars, and a prominent Suzuki logo at the center. The grille seamlessly blends with the front bumper, which boasts a striking chin design, complete with a wide air dam and separate enclosures for the fog lamps. Additionally, the horizontally positioned daytime running lamps and indicators resemble those found on the Innova Hycross, adding to the MPV's stylish appeal. These cosmetic enhancements ensure that the Maruti MPV stands out with its unique and captivating design cues.
Maruti's MPV is expected to have limited availability initially
This is due to Toyota's existing order backlog of 120,000 units for the Innova Crysta and Hycross, as reported in April 2023. As a result, Maruti Suzuki's production volume for the MPV will be relatively low initially. In response to the high demand, Toyota has taken measures to address the backlog by implementing an additional shift at its Bidadi plant. This move aims to alleviate the order backlog and fulfil customer demands in a more timely manner. As production ramps up, it is anticipated that availability of the Maruti MPV will gradually increase to meet the growing market demand.
