Maruti Brezza Crosses 1 Million Sales

In just eight months after reaching a cumulative sales figure of 900,000 units, the Maruti Brezza has now crossed the impressive milestone of 1 million units sold in India. Originally known as the Vitara Brezza, this remarkable achievement took the SUV 94 months, equivalent to seven years and eight months, from its launch in March 2016 to early December 2023. Notably, the Maruti Brezza has surpassed the Tata Nexon to become the bestselling SUV in the fiscal year 2024, with the addition of a CNG variant contributing to the boost in sales.

Maruti Brezza Achieves 1 Million Sales milestone

Since its launch in March 2016 until the end of November 2023, the Brezza has achieved an impressive sales figure of 996,608 units, only 3,392 units away from the remarkable one-million mark. In the current year, from April to November, the Brezza is estimated to have sold 111,371 units, boasting an average monthly sale of 13,921 units, or 3,480 weekly, or 497 units daily.

With the introduction of the CNG variant in March, sales have experienced a significant boost. This year's sales momentum, if sustained, could lead the Brezza to reach an estimated 167,055 units by the end of FY2024, marking its highest fiscal year sales since the 157,880 units achieved in FY2019. This surge in sales comes after facing competition from the Tata Nexon, which emerged as India's bestselling SUV in FY2022 and FY2023.

Brezza has emerged as the current bestselling SUV in India in the first eight months of FY2024. It leads with sales of 593 units more than the Tata Nexon, which recorded an estimated 110,778 units sold during the same period. Only two other SUVs have surpassed the 100,000 units mark in the April-November 2023 period – the Hyundai Creta with 108,584 units and the Tata Punch with 102,326 units sold.
