Akshay Gupta is known for resilience, passion and will in the motorsports industry. Born with a clubfoot, he not only flipped the odds but started his motorsport journey at an age as young as 4 years old. After undergoing many surgeries, financial difficulties, and the challenge of competing in an expensive sport, he never lost hope of becoming a professional race car driver.
From karting to entrepreneurship
Even though he had immense love for racing, he soon realized the financial limits of motorsport. "It's a rich man's sport," he said. Recognising his love for racing, he turned to entrepreneurship to take his racing passion to the next level. For this, he founded a Connected Car technology start up and then sold to Spinny in 2022 to focus on his passion.
Racing through adversity
A lot of years have already passed, but it has never been easy for Akshay to have a smooth journey without any hindrances. While spending a lot of time behind the steering wheel of different race cars, he suffered from many injuries. In early 2023, during Adrenalin Motorsport, Akshay received the worst injuries of his life, where despite surgeries on both his hands, he was able to make his way back to the circuit on an improved schedule than before.
He finally achieved this goal in 2024, finishing P2 in the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Series. It's monumental, not only a victory for Akshay but also for Indian motorsport, one of the very few proud flag bearers representing the nation on a global platform.

A vision beyond racing
As much as Akshay talks about racing, it is an effort towards creating long-term differences rather than just beating the clock. Akshay is the CEO of Scouto- a platform which believes in creating technology that improves lives and creates quality jobs in India. The same zeal that keeps him up at night, fighting for racing success, keeps him awake in the daytime contemplating and designing solutions to make the lives of people and their economies even better.
He's a winner both on and off the race track. He's risen against all adversities-physical, financial, and personal-successively. He stands as a living inspiration to dreamers of all ages.
