Jehan Daruvala joins reigning champions MP Motorsport in 2023 F2.

Jehan Daruvala will keep racing in Formula 2 in 2023, as he has signed with reigning champions MP Motorsport. This will be his fourth year competing in F2, the single-seater category below F1.

Daruvala has won at least one race in every F2 season since his debut in 2020, totalling four victories and 15 podium places. After two seasons with Carlin, he joined Prema Racing last year, finishing seventh overall. It was not the outcome the 24-year-old, who had his sights set on the title, had hoped for, although he did win at Monza and finished on the podium eight times. He also participated in a number of F1 test sessions as part of McLaren's Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) programme.

He will join MP Motorsport, which won the team and driver championships in 2022. Daruvala's move to the Dutch squad has been rumoured since he took part in their post-season test last November. He set the second-fastest time in the morning session on Day 2 in Abu Dhabi.

"I'm thrilled to be competing for MP Motorsport. The team has made significant development and wowed the whole F2 field with their efforts last year. They demonstrated constant front-running performance, won both the driver and team championships, and will enter the 2023 season as the squad to beat," stated Daruvala.

Daruvala's experience, according to MP Motorsport team principal Sander Dorsman, will benefit the squad even more. "His experience will be invaluable to the team, therefore we are hoping to replicate our performance from last year," he continued.

In addition to his F2 career, he will be Mahindra Racing's reserve driver for the 2023 Formula E season.

He'll perform simulator work with Mahindra engineers as part of his Formula E reserve duty and be on standby if Lucas di Grassi or Oliver Rowland is unable to race for any reason.

F2 pre-season testing will take place in Bahrain from February 14 to 16.
