Honda has launched the new-gen Amaze. While the company is permitting private buyers to choose a CNG conversion from authorized dealerships, it will be a factory-fitted CNG kit for its competitors. For now, the Amaze will be available only with a petrol engine from the factory. However, Honda has tied up with RTO-approved CNG conversion centers to cater to customers looking for a petrol-CNG powertrain. This option allows the buyers to enjoy the advantages of CNG without any compromise on the manufacturer's warranty. Deliveries of the converted models are expected to begin by the end of December 2024.
CNG Conversion Process for Honda Amaze
The CNG conversion for the Honda Amaze is specifically available for the manual transmission variant that is for private buyers. The process involves retrofitting the car with a CNG kit at RTO-approved centers. Honda dealerships have tied up with these centers to ensure hassle-free conversions.
The petrol variant of Amaze needs to be bought first, and then the installation of CNG is carried out. Even though it is a dealer-level modification, all manufacturer warranties are retained. The installation cost is around ₹1 lakh, though final prices are state-wise, due to differences in taxation. Once installed, the vehicle is returned to the RTO, where the formal registration updates happen, changing the fuel type to petrol-CNG.
The test drive for this refreshed model will soon be taking place. Thus, the automobile will have the opportunity to be taken home. Deliveries of the petrol as well as CNG-converted variants are likely to commence by the end of the month. The converted models will carry the hallmark of the Amaze, a 90hp 1.2-litre petrol engine, but with the performance downgraded by a margin, typical of CNG-powered cars.

Pricing, Features, and Delivery Details
The new-gen Honda Amaze is priced between ₹8 lakh and ₹10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), with the top-spec ZX variant being the most feature-packed. As opposed to a factory-fitted CNG kit in the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda would be taking an approach such that the customers would be able to have an option without the car being so pre-fitted.
Conclusion
This CNG conversion for the Honda Amaze, at the dealership level, has no compromise on the manufacturer warranty. Eco-friendly and economical driving option without any compromises on the warranty; the price starts from ₹8 lakh and flexible integration of CNG. So it is quite a good time to buy.
