With the 2023 Formula One season just weeks away, all ten teams have revealed their rivals. There have been numerous driver changes, with Fernando Alonso joining Aston Martin and Pierre Gasly joining the French team Alpine, to mention a few.
There are certain technical regulations modifications this year. Ride height and diffusers must be adjusted to avoid porpoising (a violent bouncing sensation felt by the driver at high speeds), stronger roll hoops must be installed to prevent an overturned car from digging into the ground, and the minimum weight has been reduced from 798kg to 796kg, to name a few.
Here is a list of all new F1 cars and liveries.
Ferrari SF-23
Scuderia Ferrari presented the SF-23 racer at its Maranello headquarters. It sports a red-dominated livery and is the first car supplied by Ferrari's new team leader Frederic Vasseur. The car, which is said to be more aerodynamic than ever before, was given an early test at Fiorano before being stored for its next outing in Bahrain. Additional improvements include a reworked suspension and minor alterations to the front wing and nose.
Mercedes W14
Mercedes returns to black livery with the new W14, this time in an effort to reduce as much weight as possible. The racer has a striking side pod design that is more aerodynamic than the W13 from last year. The rear end is also believed to be less tapered in order to boost aerodynamics. Following a dismal 2022 season, Mercedes claims to have brought "bold ideas" after applying all of its learnings from the previous year.
Red Bull Racing RB19
Red Bull, the reigning champions, unveiled the RB19 at a press event in New York. It will be driven by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez and will have a hybrid powertrain built by Honda and Red Bull. But, it is Red Bull's prospective cooperation with Ford that has gotten the most attention.
The RB19 presented at the introduction ceremony was a show vehicle, as Red Bull is known to take a more covert approach to the pre-season. Thus, by the time the vehicles race in Bahrain on March 5, expect a lot more alterations.
Alpine A523
Alpine was the last team to reveal its F1 vehicle for 2023. This year, a pink-themed version will compete in a few races, while the more conventional blue livery will compete in the others. Last year, the team finished fourth in the constructors' championship and will hope to compete with the "big three" teams in 2023. The goal this year, according to Technical Director Matt Harman, is to "be even more aggressive" with their upgrading strategy.
Alfa Romeo C43
The C43 will be the final Sauber-engineered Alfa Romeo vehicle, with Audi taking control in 2026. The car sports a stunning new red and black livery and has been termed as "aggressive on and below the skin" by the team.
McLaren MCL60
The British team's new racer, dubbed the MCL60 to mark 60 years since Bruce McLaren started the team, intends to require less in-season development than its MCL36 predecessor, which had braking troubles. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, both rookies, will drive it.
Haas VF-23
Haas, an American company that has teamed with Moneygram, debuted the VF-23 during a shakedown test at Silverstone. It has a larger engine cover behind the cockpit, a smaller front splitter, and radiator inlets located further back on the fuselage than the previous model. This shows that Haas changed the drivetrain arrangement to take use of more cooling capacity.
Aston Martin AMR23
The Aston Martin AMR23, which was unveiled at Silverstone, has enhanced aerodynamics over the preceding AMR22, with a reworked front wing, new side pods with a more gently sloping inner ramp and a new engine cover. It is the British manufacturer's third F1 car after acquiring Racing Point.
Williams FW45
The FW45 replaces FW44 and promises to be more dynamically efficient than its predecessor, both in terms of handling and aerodynamics. Gulf becomes the team's new sponsor for this season in a partnership that includes the Williams Driver and ESports Academy. The FW45, on the other hand, lacks the classic Gulf livery, instead incorporating Gulf branding into its blue livery.
Alpha Tauri AT04
The AT04 was introduced in New York City at a Fashion Week event, and it appears remarkably similar to its predecessor. This year's livery features red accents to commemorate ScuderiaAlphaTauri's new collaboration with Polish oil corporation PKN Orlen.
