A Thrilling Start to the 2025 Middle East Trophy
The Dubai 24H, held at the Dubai Autodrome, marked the opening round of the 2025 Middle East Trophy. Over 65 cars competed in this challenging endurance event, with more than 20 entries in the 992 class alone.
Ajith Kumar Racing fielded a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in the 992 Pro category. The driving lineup included Kumar, Cameron McLeod, Mathieu Detry, and Fabian Duffieux. Despite a major setback during practice caused by brake failure and a heavy crash, the team persevered. It was ultimately decided that McLeod, Detry, and Duffieux would handle driving duties during the race.
After 25 grueling hours and 568 laps, the team claimed a hard-fought third place in the 992 class. The No. 909 Red Camel-jordans.nl Porsche emerged victorious in the class, followed by the No. 912 Tierra Outdoor Racing by HWM car.
A Special Triumph in the GT4 Class
Ajith Kumar also competed in the GT4 class, driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport with teammates Dominik Olbert and Leo Pichler for the Razoon squad. Although the No. 414 Porsche faced setbacks that seemed to put it out of the race, the team made a heroic comeback. Their determination paid off as they finished fourth in the GT4 class, earning the ‘Spirit of the Race’ award for their extraordinary effort.
