Unveiling of Toyota Rumion by the end of August

By late August 2023, Toyota is set to unveil the highly anticipated Rumion MPV, with pre-bookings already on the horizon. According to reliable dealer sources, the Rumion's delivery is slated to commence in late September. This versatile MPV, boasting similar specifications, has already captured markets like South Africa.

Derived from the foundation of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Rumion marks the fourth collaboration between the two manufacturers, with Maruti Suzuki taking charge of its production and supply. This strategic partnership enhances Toyota's MPV lineup in the nation, now encompassing an impressive array featuring the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, and the Vellfire alongside the new Rumion model.

The Rumion will have slightly distinct look from the Ertiga, just like the Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza. The Rumion receives a brand-new bumper, updated fog lamp housing, grille resembling the Innova Crysta, and new dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Rumion and Ertiga both have similar interior features, including a 7-seat layout, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an Arkamys sound system, and automated climate control. It has four airbags, ABD with EBD, an electronic stability programme, and seat belt reminders for every seat, all of which are safety features.

Under the hood of the Rumion lies the identical 1.5-liter petrol engine found in the Ertiga, generating a robust 103hp and 137Nm of torque. This powerplant can be coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Notably, the Rumion offers a factory-fitted CNG kit, delivering 88hp and 121.5Nm in CNG mode and 101hp and 136Nm in petrol mode. Toyota's assertions point to an impressive fuel efficiency of up to 20.51 kilometers per liter for the petrol variant, while the CNG option achieves an economical 26.11 kilometers per kilogram.
