BMW 5 Series i5-Exterior and Interior

The new BMW 5 series will be the eighth generation model of the 5 series, and it will be joined by the i5 EV. Only the front fascia of the next BMW i5 is partially visible in the teaser photograph. The teaser image shows the distinctive kidney grille, which will be lighted with LEDs like the new series. The grille is flanked by slim headlights and vertical LED DRLs, and an "I" emblem is shown on the grille in keeping with BMW's "I" family. Some bright blue highlights are also anticipated to enhance the EV's appearance.

The new forthcoming BMW i5 reveals a dashboard layout that is evocative of the 7 Series. It will include a huge floating touchscreen and the brand's new iDrive 8.5 operating system. Other features expected on the new i5 include ambient lighting that extends across the dashboard and onto the doors, akin to the flagship 7 Series.

Powertrain of the BMW 5 Series i5

The 2018 BMW 5 Series will be available with a variety of powertrain options. The i5 will have an all-electric powertrain, standard petrol and diesel engine options driven by a 48V mild-hybrid technology and a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The BMW i5 is likely to have power levels ranging from 340hp to 544hp, as well as an 80.7kWh battery with a range of up to 563km.

The Global Premiere of the All-New BMW 5 Series i5

The all-new BMW 5 Series, as well as the new i5, will be introduced on May 24, 2023. The BMW 5 Series is now offered in India in the 520d M Sport and 530i M Sport trim levels. The next-generation 5 Series will arrive in the Indian vehicle market in LWB configuration in early 2024. Given the availability of the BMW i7 in India, the i5 is also expected to come alongside its new-generation ICE rival 5 Series. Following its introduction in India, the Next-gen 5 series will compete with the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB.
