Toyota dealerships are presenting enticing discounts on the Hilux lifestyle pickup, making it an even more appealing option for customers. Positioned at the higher end of the niche lifestyle pickup segment, the Hilux, which currently starts from Rs 30.40 lakh, has gained popularity since its launch in March 2022, with approximately 1,300 units sold to date. While the Isuzu V-Cross competes in the same segment, it is priced comparatively lower than the Hilux.

Toyota Hilux giving discounts between Rs 6-8 lakh

At debut in March 2022, the base Hilux cost Rs 33.99 lakh, but a year later, Toyota reintroduced the Hilux with a starting price of Rs 30.40 lakh, a savings of Rs 3.59 lakh. While Toyota increased the price of the top-spec High trim by Rs 1.35 lakh for the manual and Rs 1.10 lakh for the automatic, pricing them at Rs 37.15 lakh and Rs 37.90 lakh, respectively, in contrast to the entry-level Hilux Standard 4WD MT, which saw the aforementioned price reduction. The lowest discount on the Hilux is approximately Rs 6 lakh. However, depending on availability, a select few retailers are giving discounts up to Rs 8 lakh on higher models.

The price gap between Toyota Hilux & V-Cross

With the current discounts offered on both models, the price difference between the high-end Hilux 4WD AT and the Isuzu V-Cross Prestige has significantly narrowed. Previously amounting to around Rs 10 lakh, the gap now reduces to a minimum of Rs 5 lakh on-road for most variant options.

Both the Hilux and V-Cross models are equipped with diesel engines as standard. The pricier Hilux boasts a robust 2.8-litre diesel engine, generating an impressive 204hp and a massive 500Nm of torque. In contrast, the V-Cross Prestige features a smaller 1.9-litre diesel engine with 150hp and 350Nm of torque. Both trucks offer rugged off-road capabilities and similar features and safety equipment, with the Hilux having the advantage of seven airbags compared to the V-Cross' six. For the additional premium paid over the Isuzu V-Cross, customers gain the advantages of a larger engine, higher power and torque output, and the coveted Toyota badge associated with the Hilux.
