After a break of 60 years, Maserati will return to single-seater racing in 2023 with its Formula E debut. The Tipo Folgore, the company's new Formula E rival, features the iconic blue colour of Maserati in its livery.

Formula E's next Gen3 era, which will debut in 2023, will include the quickest, most potent, and most effective race vehicles the sport has ever seen. They produce 350kW (476hp) and have a top speed of 320kph while being nearly 50 kg lighter and 100 kW more powerful than Gen2 cars. Back hydraulic brakes are not required because Gen3 automobiles have front and rear powertrains that generate 600kW of regenerative power.

Maserati has partnered up with Venturi Racing for its Formula E debut. The name "Tipo Folgore" pays homage to both the company's past and present. The Tipo 26 was the first racing vehicle to have the Trident emblem, making its Targa Florio début in 1926 and taking first place in its class. The all-electric car lineup from Maserati is referred to as "Folgore."

The Italian tricolour is shown on either side of the bulkhead as a nod to the fact that Maserati will be the first Italian manufacturer to compete in Formula E.

Formula E drivers

Next year's Maserati MSG Racing drivers include Edoardo Mortara and Max Guenther. The initial Formula E season driving for Maserati reportedly involved Nyck de Vries. However, Maserati had to find a successor because the Dutch driver was moving up to F1 with AlphaTauri.

On December 13–16, the team will travel to Valencia for the formal preseason test. Season 9's first race is the Mexico City E-Prix on January 14. It has the most rounds (16), the Hyderabad E-Prix on February 11, and new races in Cape Town (South Africa), Sao Paulo (Brazil), and Portland (USA).
