Tata Motors have introduced the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari Red Dark Editions. The Nexon Red Dark Edition has a starting price of Rs 12.35 lakh, while the Harrier and Safari Red Dark have starting prices of Rs 21.77 lakh and Rs 22.61 lakh, respectively.

The Red Dark edition models, like the preceding special editions, have mostly cosmetic alterations. The Harrier and Safari both receive significant technological and safety enhancements. The prices for the Red Dark versions are listed below.

What has changed?

The newly launched Red Dark Edition, like the popular Safari, Nexon, and Harrier Dark Editions, features an all-black 'Oberon Black' exterior colour scheme. Red brake calipers and a slight red accent on the front grille are also available on the Harrier and Safari special edition vehicles. The inside of all three Red Dark Edition vehicles features 'Carnelian' crimson seat upholstery and grey trim on the dashboard.

The new additions

Tata Motors had only displayed the Safari and Harrier Red Dark Editions at the Auto Expo 2023 in January, with the Nexon Red Dark Edition now joining the lineup. The Nexon is now available in three special editions in addition to the standard Dark Edition and Kaziranga Edition.

Meanwhile, the Nexon Red Dark features red highlights on the fog lamp surround and subtle red inlays on the tri-arrow grille. The Nexon Red Dark is based on the top-spec XZ+ Lux trim. It includes equipment such as a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a sunroof, an in-built air purifier, a wireless charger, cruise control, ventilated seats, and connected car technology.

Tech Safety upgrades

The incorporation of ADAS safety technology is the most notable feature of the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions. Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), front collision alert, lane departure warning, lane change assist, and traffic sign recognition are all included. Both SUVs are based on their highest-spec variants, which include the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver's display, and a 360-degree camera. The driver's seat in both SUVs has a memory feature.

The Safari also receives ventilated seats in the second row, red ambient lighting under the door handles and around the panoramic sunroof, and cushions on the second-row head restraints.

Several innovation and safety enhancements found on the Harrier and Safari Red Dark will be available on the ordinary models in the coming weeks.

No mechanical changes

Tata Motors recently announced RDE compliant powertrains are carried over into all three special edition SUVs. The Nexon has a 120hp, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 115hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine, with either a 6-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The Harrier and Safari retain the 170hp, 2.0-liter diesel engine coupled to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Tata includes a three-year/one-million-kilometer warranty with the Red Dark Edition SUVs.
