More than two years after it was first introduced to the market, the Tata Nexon EV has been rebranded as the Tata Nexon EV Prime. In addition to its new moniker, the Nexon EV Max will also come equipped with innovative new features, some of which will make their debut in May 2022 alongside the Nexon EV Max's upgraded battery.
The Nexon EV Prime maintains its previous characteristics, including its power and torque outputs and the size of its battery pack. On the other hand, a few new amenities have been included in the automobile.
These are some of them:
- Multi-Mode Regen
- Regen Auto-Activated Brake Lamps
- Auto-Traffic-Sensing
- Tire Indirect Pressure Monitoring System (ITPMS)
- Integrated connection in smartwatches
- 110-second Charging Timeout
Customers of the Tata Nexon EV Prime will be able to acquire these capabilities for free as of the 25th of July by obtaining a software update and going to an authorized service centre. Customers will need to go to the authorized repair centre. We anticipate that service centres will install physical controls for the operation of cruise control and switching between different regen settings. Even though this aspect of the instrument panel has not yet been outlined, it is planned to provide the driver with vital information through its displays.
Regarding the Nexon EV, the head of the marketing department of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., Vivek Srivatsa, stated that since its introduction in 2013, the Nexon EV's sales in the electric vehicle class have routinely surpassed those of its rivals. Anyone considering purchasing an electric vehicle should consider this choice first because it has a market share of more than 65 per cent. Nexon EV Prime will assist us in further reinforcing our approach of maintaining the novelty and freshness of our product offerings for as long as we can retain them. This software upgrade will establish a new standard for the ownership experience of Tata electric vehicles for existing owners.
At its top speed, the electric motor that powers the front wheels of the Tata Nexon EV Prime develops 129 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 9.9 seconds. The ARAI has confirmed that it has a range of 312 kilometres. The Nexon EV Max was introduced in May and featured a battery with a capacity of 40.5 kWh and a range of 437 kilometres.
