Shlok Ghorpade Takes National Supercross Crown; Ikshan Shanbhag Wins Title in Last Round
The 2024 MRF Mogrip FMSCI National Supercross Championship concluded with a bang of an action-packed finale at Eloor, Kochi, on Saturday night. KTM Motorsports' Shlok Ghorpade emerged as the overall champion after a six-round series, while TVS Racing's Ikshan Shanbhag won the final round's premier SX1 category.
A nail-biting final round
SX1 Group A class was also hotly contested in Kochi, with Ikshan Shanbhag showing his mettle to take the round with 37 points (17 points in the first race and 20 in the second). Shlok Ghorpade kept the challenge going, finishing second with the same 37 points (20 in the first race and 17 in the second).
The fact that Shlok was consistent throughout the series fetched him the championship title at 201 points. In overall standings, Ikshan follows closely at second place after finishing the series with 198 points. Sarthak Chavan of TVS Racing secured third place with 28 points in the final round, with the two races fetching him 15 and 13 points respectively.
