The brand-new TVS iQube has sold over 1 lakh units and is still doing well on the market. On-road Delhi pricing for this electric scooter ranges from Rs 99,130 to Rs 1.04 lakh at the moment.
TVS iQube Sales
After its introduction in January 2020 and excellent sales in FY2023, TVS's lone electric car, the iQube, has sold 96,654 units. Up until the end of March 2023, it will represent 89 percent of all iQube sales in the Indian market. The company had earlier set a goal of selling 100,000 units in FY2023, but it was just 3,346 units short of that goal.
The demand for the scooter appears to have increased after the launch of the updated iQube in May 2022, along with buyers' rising preference for electric two-wheelers in the face of high gasoline prices, which are currently around Rs 106 per litre in Bombay.
Sales of the iQube virtually doubled in the first three-quarters of FY2023, as demand for the device increased significantly over the previous 12 months. Sales increased from 8,724 units sold between April and June 2022 to 15,645 units sold between July and September 2022, a 79 percent increase. Between October and December 2022, this grew to 29,230 units (up 87%), with sales of 43,055 units (up 47%) in the last quarter.
The rankings for the electric two-wheeler reflect the iQube's performance on the market. According to VAHAN data, the iQube had retail sales of 80,565 units in FY2023, placing it in the top 20 manufacturers out of the 117 OEMs competing.
TVS iQube Details
Prices for the three zero-emission TVS models (Standard, S, and ST) range from Rs 98,564 for the iQube to Rs 1,08,690 for the iQube S. (on-road Delhi). FAME is included in both prices and other state incentives. A top-spec iQube ST type with a range of 140 km on a single charge has also been unveiled by TVS Motor. However the price has not yet been made public.
The updated iQube keeps its 12-inch wheels and all-LED lighting but adds a number of networking capabilities that are powered by the available TFT instrument clusters. The entry-level iQube's 5-inch TFT unit supports turn-by-turn navigation, but the iQube S has a bigger 7-inch TFT cluster with music controls and theme customization tools. The top-tier ST model boasts an instrument cluster with a 7-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, and OTA updates.
Seeing the e-potential scooters for expansion, TVS has also increased the retail network for the iQube, which is currently offered across 200 touchpoints and 100 cities.
Early on in the year, the eco-friendly scooter received the 'Green Two-Wheeler of the Year' honour at the Autocar Awards 2023, providing ample evidence of its market positioning and consumer acceptability.
