Ruhaan Alva Finished second at Silverstone

Starting from pole position in Race 3 at Silverstone, Alva survived early contact to finish second. Ruhaan Alva finished second in Race 3 at Silverstone, his first appearance on the GB4 podium.

Following appearances in Ferrari's Driver Academy Asia Pacific and the World Motorsport Games in 2022, the Indian moved to the UK's GB4 Championship earlier this year. The Tatuus F4-T014, which is used in the Italian, ADAC, and Spanish F4 championships, is used in the one-make competition.

Race 3 of each round begins with a full grid reversal, according to GB4 rules. Alva inherited pole position for the last race after finishing last in qualifying, ahead of Fortec Motorsport teammate Aditya Kulkarni.

He took the lead from the start, but collided with Sid Smith, forcing the latter to withdraw from the race. Harri Reynolds used the drama to fight for the lead, passing Alva at Vale. A late-race Safety Car slowed the race, but Reynolds held on to win, with Alva finishing in second place. Despite enjoying his maiden podium finish, Alva conceded that he could have had a better race.

Having had a remarkable karting career, including clinching the Indian Junior X30 championship and showcasing exceptional skills in both the IAME International Final and the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, in the Junior category, the 16-year-old prodigy from Bangalore is now all set to make a full-time transition to single-seater racing. 

In the latest development, Alva had the honor of representing India in the Formula 4 category during the second edition of the FIA Motorsport Games, held in Marseille, France.

The adolescent has already attracted the notice of the sport's top levels, having been chosen last year for Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) trials for the Asia-Pacific region.
