In the final round of the MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2023 at the Madras International Circuit, Rajiv Sethu, a 25-year-old from Chennai, made his debut in the premier Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category, though he missed his ninth consecutive win. Meanwhile, other riders also secured National titles in different categories.

Vignesh Goud from Hyderabad, representing Race'ists Motorcycle Club, claimed the title in the Novice - Stock 165cc category, while Lani Zena Fernandez from Puducherry, part of RACR Castrol Power1 Ultimate, emerged as the champion in the Girls - Stock 165cc category.

Rajiv Sethu, despite an injured left shoulder, added another rider championship to his team, RACR Castrol Power1 Ultimate, in the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category. However, the highlight of the day was the remarkable performance of 16-year-old Sarthak Chavan from Pune, representing the TVS Racing stable. Starting from the 17th position, he secured a thrilling victory by overtaking Sethu on the final lap.

Sarthak's teammate, 16-year-old Chiranth Vishwanath from Bengaluru, secured the second position, making a strategic move against Sethu, who settled for third place. Although Sethu finished third in the race, his prior performance had already secured his unassailable lead in the points table.

In another race, Sethu concluded the season by winning the Pro-Stock 165cc Open category race impressively, starting from the 10th position. Sarthak and Chiranth took the second and third positions, respectively. The race was shortened to five laps due to a crash, which resulted in a red flag and a restart.

Lani Zena Fernandez also concluded her season on a high note, clinching a comfortable victory in the Girls (Stock 165cc) race. The race was shortened to three laps from the originally scheduled five, following a stoppage due to a pile-up (with riders unhurt) in the first lap. This marked her fourth win in nine starts.

Meanwhile, Savion Sabu from Bengaluru delivered an impressive finish to his season by achieving a double win in the Novice (Stock 165cc) race. However, his outstanding performance did not prevent Vignesh Goud from securing the championship in this category.
