Porsche India marked the 75th anniversary of the famous brand with enthusiasm. They organized several events, shared news about high sales, and played a part in setting a record. The German brand also introduced the updated Cayenne, the 911 S/T, and the brand-new Panamera. Looking ahead, they have plans to bring four more cars to their lineup in 2024. Here's a peek at what's coming and when.
Porsche Macan EV
Launch: Mid 2024
Price: Rs 1 crore-1.5 crore
Porsche is introducing the Macan EV, the first of its classic models going electric. It will hit the Indian market shortly after its global debut. The top-tier Turbo version of this all-electric SUV is expected to have a 100kWh battery pack, featuring two motors producing a combined power of 612hp and 1,000Nm. The Macan EV is designed to be rear-biased, adding to its potential as one of Porsche's most enjoyable cars. Porsche claims that it can be charged at up to 270kW, allowing the battery to go from 10 to 80 percent in less than 22 minutes.
The Macan EV will showcase typical Porsche features, like its distinctive elevated headlight-pod appearance. The split headlights are likely to resemble those on the Taycan. Inside, it will share similarities with the updated Cayenne and the new Panamera, featuring three prominent displays dominating the dashboard. These include a 12.6-inch instrument panel, a 10.9-inch central touchscreen, and an optional 10.9-inch passenger screen. The Macan EV is also expected to include a new augmented reality HUD, claimed to be one of the 'largest' projected displays, similar to an 87-inch display when viewed, with the image appearing at a distance of 10 meters. It will compete with the Jaguar I-Pace and Mercedes-Benz EQC.
Porsche Panamera GTS
Launch: Mid 2024
Price: Rs 2 crore
The new Panamera GTS, featuring a powerful V8 engine, is expected to come to India next year. While the third-generation Panamera was introduced in India in November 2023 with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, Porsche is planning to expand its lineup by adding the high-performance GTS version, equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. This upgraded model will showcase design, aerodynamic, and interior enhancements compared to the standard Panamera. It is anticipated to be priced at over Rs 2 crore and will be a contender against the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S e-Performance 4-door Coupe.
Porsche Cayenne, Cayenne Coupe GTS
Launch: Mid 2024
Price: Rs 2.5 crore
The newly updated Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe will soon have sportier GTS versions. These GTS variants will come with the usual upgrades in performance and looks, including the powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that's anticipated to produce over 500hp. The Cayenne GTS and Cayenne Coupe GTS are expected to be launched in India at a similar time as the Panamera GTS.
Porsche Taycan facelift, Taycan Cross Turismo facelift
Launch: End 2024
Price: Rs 1.5 crore-2.8 crore
Porsche's all-electric four-door car and its larger estate version are due for updates in the middle of their life cycle, bringing them in line with newer Porsche models. The current Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo come with 79.2kWh, 83.7kWh, and 93.4kWh battery options, and these are expected to continue with slight improvements in range and performance. Currently, the power ranges from 326hp to 625hp. The refreshed Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo are anticipated to be launched towards the end of 2024, with the former continuing to compete with the Audi e-tron GT.
