During the week of April 10 to 15, 2023, the company also updated and reopened its locations in Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. According to the company, the expansion extends the number of Porsche shops to eight, including a Porsche Studio in Delhi.
To expand the current network in India, ceremonies to celebrate the opening of new Porsche shops in Bengaluru and Chennai, as well as newly renovated and reopened locations in Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai, were held back-to-back throughout the week of April 10 to 15. Eight Porsche shops and a Porsche Studio are now available.
Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE Chief Executive Officer Manfred Braunl said the rollout illustrates Porsche India's commitment to surpassing market expectations.
Since Porsche has grown the fastest among premium automakers in India in recent years, network development has been given special attention. The growth of our Indian network demonstrates the centrality of the customer in our market approach. The opening of these five Porsche showrooms is consistent with our objective to keep growing our retail footprint across the nation in response to rising customer demand, according to Braunl.
The new dealerships have begun operations with full dedication to their clients and prospects employing cutting-edge facilities and highly qualified people, according to Manolito Vujicic, Brand Director, Porsche India.
The brand-new showrooms are designed to immerse visitors in Porsche's heritage and its engineering, safety, performance, connection, and economic advances. Future locations around the subcontinent, including three new dealers hired last year as the foundation for its growth strategy, will be based on these, with each serving a larger but still niche market.
The Mumbai and Ahmedabad locations are upgraded while facilities in Bengaluru and Chennai were built from the ground up. The location where the former Porsche Centre once stood in Kolkata has been extensively renovated by our new investors, and as a result, it is now thought of as a brand-new facility that is ready to be opened, said Vujicic.
Porsche India had its best-ever sales year in 2022, up 64% from the year before, as the brand-new electric Taycan completed its first full year of sales. Consumer interest in its SUV and sports car divisions remained robust, with a 69% increase in sales of SUV models led by the best-selling Cayenne.
