Mahindra Racing is preparing for the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix, the team's home event, in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The Hyderabad E-Prix, which takes place on Saturday, February 11th, will be the first time the Formula E Championship visits India, an event that the team has been looking forward to since the championship's inception in 2014. Following on from rounds two and three in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, the team is looking to put on a strong show for its home fans, with the emphasis firmly on getting both Mahindra M9Electro race cars into the points in order to keep the championship challenge alive.
CEO Frederic Bertrand stated of the team's home race, "It's finally here! We've been planning the team's return for quite some time. Since it was revealed that Formula E would be visiting Hyderabad, the crew has been eager to put on a show for our incredible Indian fans. We aim to thank them for their help by having a successful weekend. We need to keep pushing as a team to stay in the title race, and Oliver's goal will be to get into the points. There is a lot of enthusiasm and excitement surrounding the team as they prepare to travel to India, so I'm hoping that will convert into good performance.”
"It is vital for us to have a successful race in India - not only for the fans but also for the championship," Lucas Di Grassi stated ahead of round four. It's a new track for us, as well as everyone else on the grid. We need to have a good weekend. We're going to try our hardest and push the car to its limits to get the most out of it. We can't wait to see all the Indian fans come out in force to support us, and we want to put up a fantastic performance for them.”
In order to have a pleasant weekend in India, "Heading into Hyderabad, we know where we need to improve after a challenging weekend in Diriyah," stated Oliver Rowland. The fact that we will be competing on the team's home turf will add to our motivation. We know they will be completely behind us and supporting us, which will give us an extra push to succeed.
The squad invites supporters to show their support for the team, which will provide them with positive energy and support as they enter round four. The event begins at 15:00 local time on February 11th (09:30 GMT).
Official Powertrain Partner ZF and e-fluids partner Shell are among Mahindra Racing's many partners. The expensive Swiss watchmaker Maurice Lacroix remains the Official Timekeeper.
