The CEO of Formula E – Jeffrey Dodds had intimated that the action-packed electric racing series could return again to India provided they secure an ideal date in their racing calendar.
They had planned for this season to have one race at Hyderabad but it was cancelled last month after the local authorities failed to meet terms of agreement.
According to an agreement with the Government of Telangana, this would have been a significant event for India in 2024. Dodds however believes he can bring back Formula E in future because it will be problematic if it alters the series timetable.
“The races should be scheduled so as not to alter the fans’ expectations,” Dodds stressed. “If the series wants more supporters, they have to know when and where.”
Unfortunately, there will be one less race on this season’s calendar as there are only 16 races available since it was cancelled in Hyderabad. This has also left a massive gap which is not optimal for a schedule like this.

Hopefully, Dodds feels that such an act will not tarnish the image of Formula E in any way. However, he appreciates that this matter was complicated and beyond their power. As well as Mahindra Racing Team and other key sponsors for whom India holds links there were many stakeholders who felt let down by its cancellation.
