Buckle Up for a Year of Luxury: Mercedes-Benz India Announces Packed 2024 Launch Schedule

Get ready for a thrilling year for luxury car enthusiasts in India! Mercedes-Benz India has unveiled its exciting launch plans for 2024, featuring nine new car and SUV introductions. This ambitious lineup promises something for everyone, from high-performance AMG models to the highly anticipated new E-Class to significant expansion of the brand's electric vehicle (EV) portfolio.

Thrill of AMG – Get ready Gear Heads!

As with March Madness, the first half of 2024 will be graced by not one, but two AMG models set to throw a spanner into the conventional interpretation of luxury automobiles – the Mercedes-AMG S 63 e-Performance and the C 63 S e-Performance. These were first announced at the end of 2022 and will be those powerful machines; the 680 horsepower and 1,020 Nm of torque.

This extreme performance comes from a rear-mounted electric motor drawing power from a 476-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine working in tandem with an electric motor powered by a 204-horsepower electric motor, and from a 6.1kWh battery.

On the other hand, the new S 63 e-Performance brings a more enhanced version of the classic twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine in tandem with a rear-mounted electric motor drawing power from a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery. The combined result? An astounding 802 horsepower and 1,430 Nm of torque.

Both models of AMGs are unique with their aggressive external design, aerodynamics with the famous AMG interiors to reach the branded set of their standards, an upgrade of its features with the new infotainment system alongside a 9-speed automatic transmission and the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system that enhances both the handling and control. It can be foretold that another two models of this illustrious "above Rs 1.5 crore" segment are set to be launched by Mercedes-Benz before June 2024. Watch this space for more details.

New E-Class

The waiting is over, you may ask? Well, this wait is a mix of good news and bad news for E-Class fans. The good news is that the all-new E-Class has already been scheduled for an Indian launch in 2024. The bad news is that we might have to wait a bit more for the long-wheelbase (LWB) version, which is supposed to be released by the end of the year. The E-Class, therefore, may not be a part of the Mercedes-Benz India lineup for a little while.

The year 2024 has already announced three new EVs, and one of them is the long-awaited Mercedes-Maybach EQS.
