Demonstrating a formidable start to the championship, The HRT Mercedes-AMG team continues to shine. Following a podium finish at the previous round in Monza, their impressive performance underscores their competitive prowess. The team's consistency sets a promising tone for the remainder of the season in the GT World Challenge Europe.

Arjun Maini wins Bronze Cup

The #79 team of Maini, Baud, and Haupt qualified for a Mercedes-AMG GT3 19th overall and second in the Bronze Cup. Before turning the car over to Baud, Haupt drove the team's opening stint and gained a few positions.

The final stint was then led by Maini. Due to Garage 59's late-race retirement, Maini moved up to 14th overall, which was good enough to win the Bronze Cup. "It was a difficult race, but this time everything went our way. The entire team, which has been vying for the class victory since last year, did an outstanding job, and the outcome is well-deserved. This is the third podium for the team this year, and we intend to have successful seasons with Team HRT in all championships, said Maini, who most recently finished strongly in the Nurburgring 24-Hour race.

With 48 points apiece, all three drivers are presently in first place in the Bronze Cup championship as well.

GT World Challenge Classes

GT World Challenge Europe enforces GT3 regulations for all participating cars. The championship encompasses five distinct classes, each categorized based on the drivers' skill levels. Maini competes in the Bronze Cup, which boasts the highest number of entries. Drivers in this class possess a blend of Platinum, Silver, and Bronze ratings, reflecting a range from seasoned professionals (Gold or Platinum) to aspiring enthusiasts (Silver or Bronze). Various criteria determine these ratings, simplifying the classification of drivers based on their experience and expertise.
