Hero MotoCorp has given a sneak peek at its all-new 125cc scooter, the Hero Destini 125 XTEC. While it will be launched later this week, the new Destini 125 features a fresh design and more equipment to become a stronger contender in the 125cc scooter segment. Here are some of the changes this new version claims to bring.
Hero Destini 125 XTEC: Fresh styling and design
The teaser indicates that the Hero Destini 125 XTEC will receive a significant styling update from its earlier counterpart. So, here's what can be expected from the new scooter:
-
New LED DRLs
The scooter features all-new signature LED Daytime Running Lights nestled in the redesigned headlamp cowl, which has taken a retro theme.
-
Sleeker front design
The indicators are neatly buried under the front apron, which makes it sleeker.
-
H-shaped elements
The modern H-shaped pattern in the front of the scooter features another identically designed LED taillight to give a hint of modernity.
-
Brass accents
Brass accents are scattered over several parts of the scooter, like the front and rear panels, even extending to the rear view mirrors, and give it an enhanced premium feel.
-
New grab rail:
A new grab rail with an integrated backrest promises added comfort for passengers.
Moreover, the Destini 125 XTEC will feature alloy wheels that also appear to be sourced from the new Hero Xoom 110.
What to Expect Under the Hood
Mechanically, the Hero Destini 125 XTEC will retain the same 124.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled mill as the current model. Still, there are some changes. The motor is expected to put out approximately 9 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 10.4 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm, with a CVT transmission unit. Telescopic forks up front will continue with a single shock absorber supporting the rear wheel. Stopping will come via a front disc brake and a rear drum brake with combi-braking. Base trims may wear drum brakes at both ends in order to hit an aggressive price.

Price and Rivals
While prices have not been announced, expect the Hero Destini 125 XTEC to start at ₹85,000. That puts it in good fight against rivals such as Honda Activa 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, Suzuki Access 125, and TVS Jupiter 125. For ₹86,538, ex-showroom Delhi, for the current Hero Destini 125, this new model might just offer better value a wee bit lower.
This new Hero Destini 125 XTEC with its updated styling, more features, and competitive pricing surely has to dent the 125cc scooter market. Watch out for its official launch later this week and get ready for a whole new experience in the comfort and style of your daily commute.
