Indian Corporate Adopt Self Discipline on Roads and Appeal Public to join hands in their National Human Chain Campaign - 1CroreHaathSaathSaath

Millions of Indians drive on Roads and 400 never come back home, everyday. Road Deaths are biggest cause of Unnatural Deaths in our Country. At the same time bad road behaviour, rampant road rule negligence causing Accident, Stress and Loss of productivity to all Road Users, hurting daily commuters and impacting every Indian Citizens.


Rather than only talking about above damaging facts, many Industry Associations, Management Associations, NGO’s, Corporate, Businesses, Schools, Colleges and Institutions have come-up with a unique Action Oriented Campaign of forming India’s biggest collaborative Platform to fight Road Deaths through self-discipline and improving driver behaviour within their own ecosystem and appeal to masses for joining them in their National Human Chain Campaign - 1CroreHaathSaathSaath.

Understanding the gravity of the accident situation on Indian Roads and its Urgency to arrest Alarming Road Deaths, NGO Drive Smart Drive safe along with Ministry of Road Transport and highways and SIAM has come up with a unique campaign - 1CroreHaathSaathSaath where it aims to engage 50 Lakhs People by joining 1 Crore Hands during Road Safety Week 2019 in more than 100 Cities across the Country. The campaign is built on the spirit of Coming Together for the cause and leverage our collective power of transforming Traffic Civic sense on our Roads.

More than 100 Human Chains are being formed in more than 100 Cities, across the country by crowd sourcing volunteers from this unique collaborative Platform. Volunteers & Road Users in thousands will come together in these locations, will observe 2 Minutes Silence in Remembrance to 1.4 Million Indian Road Death Victims, motivate people to sign focused 6 Points Code of Conduct, both offline and online, thus growing the Road Safety Chain beyond Road Safety Week.

This National Event for next 7 Days is being Kicked-off on 4th February from Derabassi in Punjab with more than 5000 people creating human chain of more than 5 Km on Derabassi- Ambala- Chandigarh Highway.The flag off will be done by MD of Hella India Lighting and President Club D2S Mr Rama Shankar Pandey, Commandant CRPF Chandigarh Vishal Khandpal, , SDM- Derabassi and ACP Derabassi. Employees of Hella India along with students of Sukhmani School , Sukhmani Engineering college ,Sukhmani Dental college, Sukhmani Nursing and many others will be participating in the human chain.

A Grand Human Chain and Countrywide Silence will be observed on 8th Feb at 11 AM in remembrance of Indian Road Death Victims.

The campaign aims to educate and commit people towards self-enforcement. It aims to build “Drive Safe” Club in Organizations, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Corporates, Start-ups, RWA’s, Institutions by asking members to sign and follow 6 points codes of conduct. The “Drive Safe” Club will reward good driving behaviour through Mobile Based AI application given free access to all Road Users who will sign the Code of Conduct.

The Campaign having Principal Partner as Apollo tyres and Mahindra, Associate Partners as Gold Seal, FADA, Centre for Road Safety, Jaipur , Indian Road Safety Campaign, AIMA, CII YI, Helpguru, Indian Alliance NGO for road safety, Arrivesafe and supported by Save Life Foundation, FICCI, ACMA, , AIAWA, ASDC, WRI, Raahgiriday, The high tech Robotics systems, ,and Hella.

The campaign also appeals to Organizations of all kind, like Schools, Colleges, Universities, Corporates, Start-ups, RWA’s, Institutions, Clubs to JoinTheChain by starting their own Road Safety Human Chains in their own Campus, Plants, Offices, Canteens, Parks, neighbourhoods, supplier/contractor premises using www.onecrorehaath.com portal to start their own chain and upload pictures/videos, as it’s a shared open platform to be used by anyone to join the campaign and BringTheChange in their respective ecosystem by deploying focused 6 points code of conduct.

Club D2S - Drive Smart Drive Safe (D2S) is a Section 25 Company, an NGO that aims to educate people on road safety and reduce road accidents and deaths on Indian roads. We intend to reduce the occurrence of conditions that contribute to fatalities on roads like poor visibility, driver negligence and fatigue, negligence of safety norms, drunken driving, speeding etc.

Through awareness rallies, safety campaigns, street plays, special events and traditional and social media campaigns, we work towards raising awareness on road safety and connecting with citizens towards best practices in road travel.
