Rustom Kesir Patel and Zubair Agloria's new company, Venomotorsportz, held the Gulf Monsoon Endurance 2023 on the outskirts of Mumbai on Sunday, August 28. In the grueling track conditions of the motocross endurance event, participants competed in three categories: individually on motorcycles and scooters, and in a team challenge on motorcycles with each team consisting of three riders. Before the races began, there was a period of intense rain, which not only set the tone for the day but also made it extremely difficult for the riders.
The race's structure was straightforward: each motorcycle and scooter category got a 30-minute slot, and the winner was the racer who completed the most laps in that time. In contrast, the team challenge had a 40-minute time period with unrestricted rider swaps.
The motorbike category opened the competition, and while all of the riders were upbeat at first, it became clear after just one or two laps how dangerous the track was due to the rain. Despite having knobby tyres, some of the modified Hero Impulse and Xpulse motorcycles were sinking deeply into the mud. To complete as many laps as they could, the participants continued to push themselves frequently past their capabilities.
The scooter category faced even more challenges than the motorcycle category, but what was of tremendous assistance to riders in both categories were the marshals' tireless efforts and occasionally the assistance of bystanders in freeing stuck riders. The team task needed riders to be strategically switched out at specific points along the circuit, which made it one of the most difficult challenges to complete.
The diversity of the competitors, which included novices like Nitish Chaudhari, who was competing in his first year of motorcycle racing after competing in the national Formula 4 category, and 25-year-old Hemangi, who was one of the youngest competitors and one of only three female riders at the competition, was particularly nice. There were other riders with a lot more experience, such as Vijay C. Samel, the event's oldest rider at 63.
Despite the difficulties, the riders had a great time while also learning crucial lessons. This was especially true for the newbies. It was a fantastic experience. It was physically taxing and tough, but there were no losses; rather, you gained experience, according to Chaudhari, who finished second in the motorcycle category.
