To put it simply, the TVS ride ended up being the greatest highlight of the year. TVS had invited journos in Nepal for a celebratory ride to commemorate the victory of its 125cc offerings, the Raider and the Ntorq 125. There was a traffic jam caused by a landslide, with vehicles lined up for 40 km on both sides.
Ride in Nepal caught all the attention because of the opportunity to explore picturesque landscapes. The ride was arranged so riders would cover a distance of around 700-odd kilometres, more than three days.
The first moment of the ride was from Kathmandu to Pokhara, while day two was from Pokhara to Bharatpur and back, trailed by day three that elaborate riding back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. A lot of journos had Ntorq 125s, which are a typical sight in the city of Nepal. After a speedy photograph op at the TVS showroom followed by a flag-off, the journos, set out for Pokhara.
Journalist Ameet Rajkarnikar from Nepal Drives magazine led the convoy of journalists. After exiting Kathmandu city, the streets were wide and less packed with the view of thickly forested mountains. The first checkpoint was a bridge that goes over the Trishuli River. The road for the next checkpoint was Prithvi Highway, which runs along the Trishuli river. There were sharp blind corners and is famous for landslides.
There was a significant landslide that results in the vehicle sticking in midway. They decided to move ahead on two wheels, leaving the support and luggage vehicles. But there was slush, gravel, and boulders that had rolled off the mountain, but anyhow came back.
After all, things considered, journalists decided to explore Pokhara. They rode on a newly built six-lane highway that had beautiful scenes of mountains. After riding along the road they cut into a dirt road that led to somewhat in the middle of the Phewa Tal Lake. The last day of the ride was the evening by the lake.
