Hyundai India is conducting extensive testing for the upcoming Creta facelift nationwide, and recent spy shots have emerged, providing fresh insights into the forthcoming design updates and features. Insider information suggests that production of the Creta facelift will kick off at Hyundai's Chennai facility in January 2024.
Hyundai Creta 2024
The new Hyundai Palisade will serve as an inspiration for the Creta facelift built for the Indian market, as we've previously reported. The made-in-India Creta (codenamed SU2i, where i stands for India) makeover has a significantly modified look to set itself apart from the Creta influenced by Tuscon sold in ASEAN markets. Like the Exter sub-compact SUV, it will have a revised bumper, redesigned tailboard and H-shaped LED DRLs. In addition, the Creta facelift will have a revised front grille and split-unit vertical headlamps with cube-like details.
While spy photos reveal that the alloy wheel design is comparable to the existing Creta, there have also been reports of Creta facelift test mules with larger 18-inch wheels from the Alcazar. However, the profile generally remains the same.
Speaking of features, the upgraded Creta will have a 360-degree camera and an ADAS suite, just like its Kia brother. Although no significant interior changes are anticipated, there will be new upholstery colours and a few small adjustments here and there. On the redesigned Creta, the infotainment screen will probably remain at 10.25 inches.\
Hyundai Creta 2024 Powetrain
The Creta will eventually get the new 1.5-liter, 160hp turbo-petrol engine with this makeover. The Kia Seltos, Hyundai Alcazar, Hyundai Verna, and Kia Carens all run on the same engine. Both a manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT gearbox are anticipated as gearbox choices. The other available engines are a 1.5-liter normally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, both of which produce 115 horsepower.
Hyundai Creta 2024 Rivals and Launch Date
The Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor are some of the Creta's competitors. The Alcazar SUV will also receive a mid-lifecycle revamp after the Creta facelift debuts.
A Hyundai electric Creta is also in the works. Although the exact debut date has not been confirmed, reports claim that production will start at some point in late 2024, with sales starting in early 2025.
