After securing the 2023 Junior Indian National Rally Championship, Jahaan Gill has now added the FIA Junior Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) title to his list of victories. The championship-deciding event unfolded during the Danau Toba Rally in Indonesia, coinciding with the Indonesian Rally Championship. Notably, other members of JK Tyre Motorsport's team also delivered impressive performances, with Suhem Kabeer claiming top honors in the NVA (National Vehicles Approval) class and Lokesh Gowda securing a commendable second place in the same category.

JK Tyre Motorsport achieved well-deserved recognition as it was honored with the prestigious Best Team Performance trophy. This acknowledgment underscores the team's exceptional prowess and collective effort in the competitive arena of motorsports. Adding to the triumphs, Suhem Kabeer showcased his outstanding skills by emerging as the fastest contender in the NVA (National Vehicles Approval) class.

Jahaan Gill clinches his inaugural international rally championship victory

At the age of 21, Jahaan Gill made his entry into the Indian rallying scene in 2021, steadily ascending the ranks. Piloting a Subaru Impreza STi N11, Gill, along with co-driver Suraj Keshava Prasad, demonstrated exceptional skill in navigating challenging wet conditions, securing an impressive eighth-place finish overall in the gravel rally. Additionally, he claimed the third position in the NVA class and the fifth spot in the M2 class of the Indonesian Rally Championship. These achievements culminated in Gill clinching the Junior APRC title. Reflecting on the demanding terrain, Gill remarked, "It was very difficult terrain, and driving [here] for the first time was not an easy task."

Suhem Kabeer secures the top position in the NVA class at the Danau Toba Rally

In his debut in an international rally, Suhem Kabeer, accompanied by co-driver PVS Murthy, secured a commendable fourth place overall in Indonesia. Demonstrating exceptional prowess, he not only posted the fastest time in the NVA class but also claimed the second position in the M2 class. Reflecting on the challenging experience, Kabeer shared, "It was one of the most difficult rallies that I have been part of. It was uncharted territory for us with little knowledge of the terrain.”

Gowda's comeback to rallying, after a hiatus, was notable at the event. Partnered with co-driver Ashwin Naik, he secured a fifth-place finish overall, claimed the second spot in the NVA class, and achieved third place in the M2 class. Adding to the team's success, JK Tyre Motorsport received the award for Best Team Performance. The APRC title went to Indonesian driver Rifat Sungkar and his Australian co-driver Ben Searchy, navigating the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo to victory.
