The work is already underway for their 2023 car, and Mike Elliott, TECHNICAL Director of Mercedes, has explained how the challenges of the team in 2022 are an influence in their direction.
Mercedes has provided an update on the work underway for the 2023 car. For the Brackley-based outfit in 2022, it has been a challenging season. There were some issues at the beginning of the campaign, but they improved as the year progressed.
Recent races have observed the Silver Arrows slip backward of their warfare with Ferrari of P2 within the constructor’s Championship. Mike Elliott said, “For the preparation of next year’s challenge, a valuable lesson can be taken from W13.”
How 2022 is influencing the plan of Mercedes’ 2023 car
On asking about the lap time needed to gain to compete for the title in 2023, Mike Elliott revealed that this is hard to put a number. Our performance was pretty good at several races, but in some, we were a little away. We have figured out what we need to put right.”
Mercedes is hopeful of a return to the field.
Silver Arrows aims to give George Russell and Lewis Hamilton a car capable of competing at the front of the again in 2023. Mike Elliott said, “We will work diligently over the winter and are ready to make a comeback into the position where we’re competing.
