Kawasaki is to bring the much-awaited Ninja 1100SX to India next fortnight. The Ninja 1000SX has been extremely popular among enthusiasts due to its sportiness as well as comfortability. The new Ninja 1100SX will inherit the legacy but with slightly bigger engines, more refined features, and better long-distance touring capabilities, the motorcycle promises to provide a more refined ride experience. Although it looks similar to the predecessor, there is little mechanical improvement with the new Ninja 1100SX.
Engine and Performance Upgrades
The main highlight of the Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX is that it comes with a bigger 1099cc engine, displacing the previous 1043cc motor. This has been done by increasing the stroke to 77mm x 59mm from the previous 77mm x 56mm. Though the power output has gone down to 4hp to 136hp, torque has increased to 113Nm, giving it smoother and effortless performance.
Peak power and torque are now delivered a little further down in the rev range for city rides as well as more efficient, long-distance touring. Moreover, Kawasaki has increased the gearing of 5th and 6th for smoother highway cruising. Other mechanical updates involve a better bi-directional quickshifter for improved low-speed performance and better fuel efficiency. The motorcycle now uses new Bridgestone's newer S23 tires, doing away with the older compound S22.
Features, Design, and Pricing
Visually, the Ninja 1100SX is nearly identical to its predecessor, the Ninja 1000SX. It still packs a comprehensive suite of electronics, including riding and power modes, traction control, ABS, a bi-directional quick-shifter, and electronic cruise control. But there is a new USB Type C port mounted on the handlebar, adding a little extra convenience for riders.
The new Ninja 1100SX will reportedly cost ₹75,000 to ₹1 lakh more than the outgoing Ninja 1000SX, which was priced at ₹12.19 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Kawasaki will bring only the standard variant to India and the higher-spec SE variant with Brembo M4.32 front brakes and an Ohlins rear shock will not be brought.

Stay tuned for official launch and price, when this powerful machine hits the Indian roads.
