The French supplier has taken this as an opportunity to present its four business groups
When you think of the car of the future, the first thing that probably comes to mind is interlinked e-vehicles that communicate with each other, drive autonomously and that can adapt to numerous situations on the road by themselves. However, most people are not aware that the seats will also play a significant role in the car of tomorrow and will help to shape the interior of the future. Faurecia is already a big step ahead of the industry here.
"Seats are increasingly becoming a component that add value to a vehicle"
Faurecia's largest business group, Seating, employs 42,700 people at 77 locations in 22 countries. This makes Faurecia the market leader in seating technologies and one of the top three automotive suppliers of complete seating systems. "Seats will continue to be an integral part of vehicles in the future," says Eelco Spoelder, Executive Vice-President of Faurecia Seating. "One of our slogans is 'Seating is on the move.' We develop and produce seats, but at the same time we are always on the move to innovate and inspire our customers with our cutting-edge technologies. We can already see that seats will be a component that adds value to vehicles in the future. The technology installed in seats will increasingly have more functions to enhance safety and comfort. At Faurecia Seating, we are very well positioned for the future because we are mastering all technologies in the areas of comfort, safety and wellness. One of our main advantages that sets us apart from the competition is our industrial set-up with the global footprint. This includes the production but also all supporting functions. However, innovation remains our main driver to secure Faurecia's competitiveness and continued profitable growth."
The video of the Seating business unit provides an insight into the state-of-the-art production facilities, shows product examples of today's seating technologies and uses animations to illustrate future seating functions.
Faurecia's four business groups will be presenting themselves in loose order on the HELLA intranet. These are divided into Seating (components, safety technologies and system solutions for car seats), Interiors(dashboards, center consoles, door panels and modules, and surface technologies), Clean Mobility (emission-reducing exhaust systems, battery and fuel cell technologies) and Clarion Electronics (cockpit electronics, displays and low-speed driver assistance systems).
