Tijil Rao and Arya Singh of Dark Don Racing won the LGB Formula 4 class's premier race, which ended up being a nail-biter throughout, at the Kari Motor Speedway circuit in Chettipalayam on Saturday, kicking off the 26th JK Tyre National Racing Championship season to an incredible start.

Tijil began the day by winning the first race and taking the top spot on the podium. The youthful Bengaluru player found it challenging, though, as T.S. Diljith (Thrissur) and Arya Singh (Kolkata) gave him a run for his money. Lap after lap, the lead changed hands, and by the halfway point, it was all about maintaining composure. Despite the pressure, Tijil maintained his composure, waited for the ideal opportunity to strike, and carefully prepared his move in the final lap to capture the checkered flag in style.

It made little difference to Team Dark Don Racing because Arya and Diljith took the next two spots. Arya triumphed in the second race, exacting sweet retribution on Tijil. With three laps remaining, the two were racing side by side and it appeared that anyone could win, giving Dark Don Racing again another victory. The safety car's appearance increased the excitement for the audience but not for the top three competitors, as the rear-markers gained a little advantage.

All eyes were on Arya and Tijil at this point, but the former performed superior to the latter when it mattered most to end the day happily. Ahura Racing's Tijil and Viswas Vijayaraj had to settle for second and third place, respectively. Arjun Nair of Bengaluru, who competes for Momentum Motorsports, got the season off to a great start by winning the JK Tyre Novice Cup and a sweet double. He set the fastest clocking in both races, demonstrating to everyone that he had the speed to outrun the competition.

In the JK Tyre presents Roya Enfield Continental GT Cup, R. Anand of Chennai won by scoring over a competitive field to claim the top spot on the podium. Md Samrul Zubair of Hyderabad gave Anand a run for his money in a race that was full of incidents and had to be restarted because of a few accidents, but Anand triumphed with relative ease.
