Citroen has introduced the C3 Aircross with an automatic transmission in India, filling a significant gap in their lineup. The vehicle is offered in two versions - Plus and Max - with prices starting at Rs 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom). This automatic version is Rs 1.30 lakh more expensive than the manual model. It's noteworthy as the first vehicle on the C-Cubed platform to feature an automatic gearbox. Customers can book the car with a deposit of Rs 25,000.

Citroen C3 Aircross AT Features

The C3 Aircross AT is equipped with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox from Aisin, a Japanese company. This gearbox is paired with the existing 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine's power stays at 110hp, but the torque has increased to 205Nm. The transmission includes a manual mode but lacks paddle shifters. Additional features include remote engine start and air conditioning preconditioning.

Interestingly, this gearbox is similar to those used in models like the Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus, and the MG Astor.

Design and Interior of the Citroen C3 Aircross AT

Externally and internally, the C3 Aircross AT remains largely unchanged from the manual versions. It lacks several high-end features found in some competitors, such as a sunroof, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and electrically operated ORVMs. However, it does include a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a digital instrument cluster. There are no external visual elements to distinguish it from the manual variants.

Pricing and Market Position

With its pricing, the C3 Aircross AT is more affordable than the entry-level automatic variants of its competitors, which include models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and MG Astor. Additionally, it remains the only model in its class to offer the convenience of seven seats.
