Hi-Performance M60 xDrive Variant Makes its Debut

This is the same high-performance BMW i5 M60 xDrive guise that is getting unveiled in India, and it will be seen in a fully loaded specification. This implies that Indian drivers will get their hands on the most powerful version of the i5, with an incredible 601 horsepower and a humongous 820 Nm of torque.

This is quite literally explosive acceleration; that's why the i5 M60 xDrive accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in a mere 3.8 seconds, and it doesn't end there, as the car has an electronically limited top speed of 230 kilometers per hour. It also comes fitted with BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system for enhanced handling and improved control in all driving conditions.

Impressive Driving Range and Convenient Charging Options

The standard-wheelbase i5 may be slightly smaller compared with its gasoline-powered 5 Series counterpart but compensates for that with a rampant driving range. The i5 M60 xDrive is equipped with an 81.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack, having a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 516 kilometers on a single charge. Therefore, drivers of this model do not need to watch their fuel gauge anymore, for a single charge may give them a daily run and maybe even one of the weekend getaways without range anxiety.

The BMW i5 M60 xDrive is equipped with a number of options for charging that can meet even the most extreme needs of drivers. The standard form of the car comes with an 11kW AC charger, and an onboard unit that can be upgraded to 22kW for a faster charge. The i5 boasts a 205kW DC fast-charging capability; that is, it can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, which will be very convenient for those long-distance trips.

Price and Availability:

BMW, for some reason, is not yet forthcoming regarding the price of the BMW i5 M60 xDrive. Considering the family-oriented nature of the vehicle, it will probably be priced competitively but still luxuriously. This could just be just a Rs 1 crore mark in terms of pricing. Deliveries of the BMW i5 M60 xDrive are on a first-come, first-served basis. The deliveries are expected to start in May 2024.
