Ampere Nexus Electric Scooter Starts Deliveries in Bengaluru

Celebrating, electric two-wheeler enthusiasts from Bengaluru! Ampere Electric, a subsidiary brand of Greaves Cotton Limited, has started deliveries of its much-anticipated Nexus electric scooter. This comes just over a month after the official launch and coincides with the company's 16th anniversary.

Promising Power and Range

The Ampere Nexus is powered by a 3kWh battery, providing a claimed range of 136 km in a single charge—ideal for zipping around the city. A mid-mounted electric motor provides a peak power output of 4kW, with Ampere claiming a top speed of 93 kph. It can be juiced back up in 3.3 hours, while faster charging is available with an additional cost, which has not been disclosed yet.

Two Variants and Tech Features

The Nexus comes in two variants: EX and ST. The EX features a 6.2-inch LCD display, while the ST boasts a more advanced 7-inch touchscreen TFT instrument cluster. All this adds up to three riding modes to allow various power deliveries and reverse and hill-hold control for added ease on inclines.

Deliveries and Future Plans

For now, deliveries have started only in Bengaluru, but Ampere promises customers in other Indian cities that it will carry on the phased deliveries throughout June to ensure everyone who pre-ordered gets their scooter on time.

Ampere entering the premium electric scooter segment with the Nexus is bound to shake things up. Whether it proves to be as much a game-changer as the specifications suggest in performance and range remains to be seen, but customers in Bengaluru can find out for themselves now.
