Meraki 1.2 Dehradun - Dhanaulti - Dehradun Cycle Ride
MERAKI is to do something with soul, creativity, or love. Means when you put “something of yourself” into what you’re doing. After successful completion of MERAKI 1.1 DCD, here is the Second Ride of this Season MERAKI 1.2 is D-Cube i.e. Dehradun - Dhanaulti - Dehradun. On this ride, you will experience the Climb of Road and Off-road cycling with a speedy downhill combination. Only MTB bikes are allowed for this ride.
Dehradun is made up of two words: 'Dehra' is derived from the word "dera", deriving from "griha" and meaning home. "Dun" or "Doon" is a term for the valley that lies between the Himalayas and the “Shivaliks".The district contains Rajaji National Park which is home to several elephants, Benog Wildlife Sanctuary at Mussoorie & Asan Conservation Reserve (Asan Barrage). The Doon Valley has the Terai and Bhabar forests within it as well as the Shivalik hills and Lesser Himalayan Range containing hill stations such as Mussoorie and Dhanaulti.
Dhanaulti is situated at an altitude of 2286m and is known for its quiet environs amidst the alpine forests of Deodar, Rhododendron and Oak. ECO-Park is the main attraction of Dhanaulti. There are two Eco-parks, "Amber" and "Dhara" about 200 m apart. It has been developed recently by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand with the help of local youth.The adventure sports facility is available for visitors in the form of walking over the flying fox and Burma bridges and riding horses. There is also a facility for visitors to plant a sapling of tree species in the memory of their beloved, which is called as memory sapling plantation.

Safety Rules And Conditions
1) It is compulsory to wear a helmet for the entire duration of the ride. Riders without a helmet will not be permitted to start.
2) For night riding, bicycles must be equipped with front and rear lights attached firmly to the vehicle. Lights must be fully functional at all times. If lights will not be working you are not allowed to ride.
3) Every rider must use their lights. All riders must wear a reflective vest that clearly places reflective material prominently on the front and back of the rider. If you will not be wearing reflective vests you are not allowed to ride.
4) This ride is open to any amateur cyclist regardless of his or her cycling affiliations. Riders (under the age of 18) must get a “consent form” signed by his or her parent or legal guardian.
5) To participate in this event, a rider must fill out the registration form, sign a “waiver of liability”, and pay the registration fee.
6) Each rider must be covered by liability insurance, either by a group policy or by a personal policy.
